Rich rode with me (and all of us) all day today.
What a beautiful day it was out there!
Most of us met up at Starbucks, then we picked Bob up at the gas station....up to four corners, the official meeting place, and the crew was complete.
Roll call: scratch (our leader), Bob Broussard (who was everywhere at once!!), sanjay, ktiger, lumpoffire, brett, Brian (friend of ktiger? or friend of friend of friend?), Ashley (another friend of friend of friend of friend of friend of ktiger??), pandy, Ceek (our co- sweep), and our sweep in his cage, TheGoodGuy.
scratch said a few words about Rich (and he did a WONDERFUL job....a beautiful tribute to our fallen rider), and we created a small memorial in Rich's honour at Four Corners, which is sort of considered the center of the riding world here.
We all geared up again, and it was time to ride!
I don't know about the rest, but I'm tuckered. It's not easy keeping up with youngsters like scratch and Bob. They are AMAZING to watch.
We stopped for early lunch, late breakfast (ok, brunch)...at a little place called....Blue Sun? Yummy foodage, and YUMMY lemonade!! It was hotter than Hades out there for this fragile little flower, so the cold drink was oh-so-welcome! :o But I got to follow our own Bob Broussard!!! (If I *ever* have the honour/pleasure of riding with you again, sir, I promise you that I WILL glue myself to your butt, and you'll never get me unglued!!! :kiss3: :kiss3: :kiss3: :icon_lol: )
After brunch, it was time to hit the twisties again (well....the rest of the guys hit them....I kinda tiptoed in :icon_mrgreen:)... With some excellent pointers from Bob, I was making progress....'til...errrr.... remember how I said recently that it'd been two months since I last dropped my baby boy....sorry again, Ashley :icon_rolleyes:
We finished the official group ride at.....hmmm...where scratch said we would! :icon_mrgreen: We enjoyed some Gatorade, a good chat, and then we broke up into smaller groups. Bob showed us what his GS could do as he went his way!    :thumb: scratch had so much fun the first trip through the twisties today that he decided to turn around and do it again! Most of us took it easy and had a nice, relaxing journey as we made our way back toward out homes. 8)
It was a pleasure and a privilege to ride with all of these fine riders....truly a joy! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
But I meant it when I said that anyone who posts a pic of me will be banned, Tar'd (so to speak hehe), feathered, roasted alive, beaten, whipped, hunted down like animals, and have to clean my bike with half a Q-tip!!!! :flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff: Other than that, I hope everyone feels totally FREE to post up their pics here!   :icon_razz:
Add to tale.....post what I've forgotten or didn't see...correct any errors.... :icon_mrgreen: I'll add more pics as I regain my strength.. :cookoo:
I just log on and to see this was nice and sad at the same for me it nice to know how much you all thought of my brother thank you so much TazZ
We thought the world of him, TazZ.
Most of us meet at Starbucks first..... Ceek and I first went to Peet's, and THEN we went to *$....I need my morning joe! :cookoo:
Yes..that *is* yours truly in the above shot .....as cropped out as I could get myself and still show the bikes! :flipoff:

We didn't get any "action" shots (I'm not sure if anyone did?), so we'll fast forward to lunch:
Here we are, all lined up (thanks again for pulling me into my parking place, scratch :kiss3: :icon_mrgreen:):

Don't tell Ceekie, but I think I have a crush on Bob :kiss3:
TheGoodGuy has the group shots.....I have only one more....the latest damage to my baby :cookoo:
The damage is already fixed. Ceekie took one of the mirrors from his son's totaled Gixxer 750 and replaced my broken one...I can ride to work this week! YAY!! :kiss3: :kiss3: :kiss3:
Oh my GOD! You killed your bike! :o I hope that's your only damage. :kiss3:
Sorry I couldn't make it this trip guys. I didn't know I would be free until about 10:30 Saturday night. I IM'd TheGoodGuy at about midnight, but didn't catch his reply until 9am. (Not your fault, when I saw you log off at 12:30 I didn't expect you back!)
I was going to take a drive up to 4-corners this morning and meet you, but the brakes on my truck aren't up for 9 at the moment. I'm sorting out a master cylinder problem. I need to ride my bike out here!
Anyway, I know that tree at 4-corners. I'll take a trip up there sometime.
Thanks for the pics. 8)
sounds like a good time. I look forward to our memorial ride on the 19th. Scratch, can I get a jpeg of the photo you used for the memorial? I was going to use the one on the site but yours is better.

Brain friend of ktiger and Ashley friend of Brian :)
So pandy what's with your reluctance to be in pics?
I even have one of me posted somewhere, I look like radar from mash in it too.
It is beautiful.
Good chronicling pandy ... though you chopped off everything but your boobies ... so next time we'll have to indentify you with those ... ...
Cool.

I value all the members of GSTwin WAY too much to inflict my ungawdessly visage upon them. :cookoo:

That was part of my contract when john made me the purple moderator...must have bosom in pandy shots (but nothing else). I'm just holding up my end of the bargain. :flipoff:
I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the pics that the others took.....well....the ones of the OTHER GSTwin members, that is. :thumb:
I have put the VIDEO of the memorial on my server. Its 11.x mb.. TAZZ if you want the orginal file email me.. manjul.bose@gmail.com
Anyway here is teh video. The rest of the pics i will do so tomorrow. As pandy says, i am getting swamped at work. Plus my internet has been flaky and slow as dialup tonight.

sorry its a windows media video file i will make it quick time later.
Manjul
Thank you for capturing scratch's words, Manjul. :kiss3: Ceekie tried, too, but he was too close to the noisy Noras standing behind us. I thought the sound of the motorcycles arriving and leaving was apropos.
sorry I missed it everyone. I didn't get back from my vacation until the 10th and I didn't see the tragic news until tonight.
It's always difficult to hear about a fellow rider's death. I can't help but question my own devotion to riding when it's a familiar 'face'
Musical Tribute (http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=926401808&n=2)
Since Ceekie wasn't able to catch the sound portion of the memorial at Four Corners, he created a musical memorial. :kiss3:
I havent been on in a while, but I was so happy to see these posts when I came on today. Its been SO hard without my Rich. LIfe just isnt the same :(.
I love the memorial ride pictures, what a wonderful thing to do. I know Rich is looking down on us with his own comments! I just want to thank you all!

Hey everybody. I was just wondering if I could put some of these pictures in my slideshow that I'm creating for Rich based on the rides taking place and some other stuff.
Please let me know :) It'd be great to use these pictures!
you got my permission
Ooops....I missed this one! Use any pics ya' want! :kiss3:
Ditto.
Thanks you guys! :)
I will be posting the slideshow up as soon as it's done.
Hopefully I can get to working on it sometime this week, busy busy!
The DVD is done for Gator
I was just thinking about Rich this afternoon. I didn't know him really at all, but I miss the guy and feel for his friends and family. No one has forgotten, bud!
-Dan.
Thank you so much for the Kind words about Rich we miss him everyday thats why there now a dvd with the Gstwins rides and his pictures of his life done
As soon as I get the DVD, there will be a showing at my house. It will have to be on an evening that has good weather so everybody can park their bikes, since I don't have a lot of parking room.
The livingroom is more than large enough for 5 on the couches, 2 comfy chairs, and then we still have room enough for 4-6 chairs, and one or two on the carpet. It is a projector, so the screen will be more than big enough (almost the entire wall).
Or, we can wait til 7-2-07, but I'd rather ride then...or both, hmm...evening ride, diner at St. John's (great burgers! And, other food) on Lawrence, and then the showing.
Unless, you don't want to see me cry, again.
I have my DVD, scratch's DVD, and TaZz sent me extras to give to other B.A.G.S. folks the next time we meet up :kiss3: (and the post office finally unlost the package!) There won't be a dry eye in the house. It's a wonderful tribute to Phaedrus
I vote for doing it all: watching the video sooner and then doing the anniversary ride. We can always watch the video earlier, do the anniversary ride, and watch the video again after the anniversary ride (but that, of course, would depend on Mrs. scratch and how much of us is too much :icon_lol:). She'd be a sweetheart to put up with all of us even once.
I'm up for whatever everyone else is up for. :thumb:
