I know it not going be bolt on or anything esle like that, but how hard is it to put the upper GSX-R fairing on the GS500F? Iv'e seen it in afew pic and think it look alot better then the stock GS500F.
I think it's the 2002 GSX-R fairing.
luck
race fairing or street fairing (with headlight)?
street... Iv'e seen it on bikepics.com under GS500F 2004 modle
you're seeing the GS-R faring made by that dude in Brazil. it costs over $800 I think. :cookoo:
Wow, just for the upper fairing! so it's not just the fairing off a GSXR? Where can you find these fair or find brazil?
Do a search for "Aluizio Motors Fairing" or something similar. That is the company that makes them and they are based in Brazil. I've heard that they cost more like $1000. Looks great though.
-Turd.
the fairing isnt just the upper fairing. its a whole new sides and front as well as clip ons and maybe some other stuff. I have no experience with it but i hear it isnt the best out there as far as fit and finish. but i would agree, looks real good.
looks 100 times better than the old TITAN kit

this is a good question though, can GSXR fairing snap onto a new model GS500? I don't see why it couldn't but I don't know if the measurements are different
Thanks everyone for your help, turthfully I just what the front front end and that it.
I know this thread is kinda dead, but nobody answered my question, and I am now wondering. Can the fairings be switched? Any help would be great, thx
short and simple.
not without lots of fabrication work.
Go down to your local Suzuki dealer and look at a GSXR....... there's your answer.
better yet find and make good buddys with some one that has one (gsxr) and tear into it.
Hmm why spend all that money to make a GS look like a GSXR, when you could just buy a GSXR?
Hey guys. Honey here. My boyfriend and I were talking about changing the fairing on his V-Strom 650 from red to black. He called the shop where he got his and they said that it was doable. Now, my question for you guys is have any of you tried to put the '05 black and silver fairing on the '04 yellow/black/silver? Will it cost as much as trying to put on the GSX-R? I don't want to have to spend a grand doing this but I like the color scheme of the '05 better. Advise??

Uhh.. should be a straight swap. Cost you whatever the new fairing costs, and that's it. I think.

Aw, man... why ya gotta poop on the titan? I think it looks decent. At least say it looks 3 to 5 times better, but 100? That's harsh.
AFAIK, all the GS500 fairings (2004,2005,2006) are completely interchangeable.
As for a GSXR fairing... no not doable without moving (welding) new mounting points... and then there's the issue of the GSXR being a taller and wider bike than the GS500. The upper cowl alone will give you headaches (faired bikes have their instrumentation built into the upper fairing stay.... the GS500 has them attached to the triple clamp I think).
If you are going for the look, then your best bet is the Brazilian aluziomotos fairing that someone already linked to. Unfortunately, that fairing is expensive and not quite worth the money (and headaches to make it fit... i've heard that the tail section is a pain).
There was a bike on the board that added the aluiziomotos fairing... i think it was up in Chicago somewhere. It went up for sale in late 2005 I think.
