Title: Corbin seats for 2001+
Post by: ktiger on July 11, 2006, 12:33:38 AM
So I know this topic has been covered on a number of occasions, but I got a nice email from Corbin that seemed to suggest that some interest would get things moving over there.

Here's what they had to say to me:

Hello,

Thanks for writing.  Currently we do not have a seat available for
that year bike, as our GS500 seats only fit up to 2000 model
bikes.  You can fill in a product request form here:
http://www.corbin.com/new/mrequest.shtml and if you have buddies with
the same bike who would like the same part, have them fill in the
form as well.

Corbin prides itself on customer suggestions and we have done parts
strictly from word of mouth.

I hope this info helps - if you have any other questions feel free to
give us a call at 831-634-1100 and one of our reps will be ready to
assist you.  Thanks for your interest with Corbin, it's much appreciated.

Regards,
Michael Alva

It's sure be great if a bunch of 2001+ GSers who wanted better saddles all let Corbin know there was some real interest out there! :)

 That really makes me laugh cause my 93 seat is way better than AJ's 01 seat. Seems like they should have done it the other way around and had them for the newer, inferior bikes  ;)

Ok, I did it.

Here's the link for those who couldn't see it above:

I have little faith, though. People have tried before and just gotten a run-around. Even the form still has the default first two digits of the model year as "19".

Well, like I said, the hope is that if we can get enough requests to them, they'll decide there's a market in it :)

For 2001+ currently Corbin is not making a saddle, but I'd imagine it would look similar to their 2000 and older saddle for the GS500 that they make if they decide to make one available for us.

I don't know anyone anywhere who thinks of a Corbin saddle as "rice".

Does anybody have one of these?
I am thinking of getting one because i find the seat on my 95 gs to be a bit uncomfortable after long rides.

What other options are out there to make life on the gs a bit more comfy?
