No frame sliders on the F because the fairing bolts to brackets that are bolted onto the frame. There is too much space between the fairings and the frame for frame sliders to work. Case guards work on the E models and protect the engine casings. The frame is fairly safe from most scratches and stuff anyways.

They work in theory.

Well see Alpha's post.  They prob are just bling.  I highly doubt they would actually function well in a crash.  Which brings me back to my first post.

I have found two places that sell frame sliders that are compatible with a GS500F.  One has no details, the other seems to require drilling.

http://www.newportcycleparts.com/categories/body_fairings_etc/LP_frame_sliders.htm (no pictures)

Actually frame sliders do their job quite well. They protect the frame and a few other bits from getting messed up. Find Pablo's crash thread and take a look at the pictures of his bike. It'd have been a lot worse without the frame sliders.

Those are the only ones that are going to work. You are going to have to drill a hole in your fairing though.

thanks for the link to R&G Racing (the English site). those sliders are exactly what I'm looking for.  :thumb:

drilling the frame & installing sliders could be a big mistake. Look closely at R&G's pictures of the sliders on the unfared GS500. the slider links together BOTH sides of the frame and passes through the engine; spreading out any impact across a MUCH larger area.

compare that to just drilling a hole in one side of the frame and the slider will most likely snap or damage the frame itself.

GOOD FIND!!!!!!
