Porsche 906, aka "Carrera 6", the factory's weapon of choice, circa 1966

nice car but the ford was out front
too bad Porsche doesn't compete in LeMans any more... they don't want to race against the victor of the past 6 years, good old Audi
Lima,
I seems to me that PORSCHE appears to be content to rest on its victory laurels of years past, rather than compete as they did in the '60s, '70s and '8OS. The factory would rather have a fat bottom line selling 911s, Caymans, Boxsters and (ugh)Cayennes to fat cats and alpha dogs than get its hands dirty competing in sports car races and enduros around the world. Too bad, I was there when PORSCHE was fun to watch and only the cognescenti and the enthusiast bought their cars, rather than today's gold chain/Rolex/bling set.
My Tyco slot-car track when I was about 8 or 9 came with 908s.
Bwaaaaa .... my fav is a 930 ...
Cool.
