Title: MotoGP at Laguna Seca
Post by: Bob Broussard on July 12, 2006, 10:13:44 PM
Who's goin?
I'll be there Sat and Sunday. I was thinking of getting together at Starbucks by my house in Salinas.
It's right off Hiway 101 south (past Northridge mall, Laurel exit). Turn right at stop sign then right again at light.
Go down a bit and Starbucks is on the left by Costco. Real easy to get to. From there it's a straight shot down Davis Rd. to reservation and the "motorcycles only" entrance through Fort Ord's back gate.
I plan on leaving pretty early though. Probably around 8:30 am Sat and 7:30 Sunday.
Lines will be long.  :icon_rolleyes:

I'm going Sunday with a freind, we're staying at his parent's house near the track; not sure how we're getting there.  Edit: we're taking the BMW (car).

I will be there with my wife and buddie... Look for the GS with no stickers, black airtech body kit and black and silver tank... It will be parked next to a red Katana 600..  It's going to be a long ride!  Taking the coast up tomarrow and back down monday!

Where were you guys at?  We ended up between turns 9 and 10 under a small tree shared with a couple of Italians.  Italian is a beautiful language.

It sucked BTW, the heat, the sun, the 2.5 hour wait for the buses, Laguna sucks to be a spectator at, unless you spend the scrilla.  I got more dirty than if I had gone camping.  Laguna is poorly designed for the spectator, but is a great track, having been on it myself.  They gave us free water because the conditions were so bad (and to avoid lawsuits).  I want a t-shirt that says, "I survived Laguna Seca 2006".

I did see another GS there.  All black, no fairing, looked like it was a flat black repaint, so I'm guessing it was a '94 purple one; it was stock, too, and in very good condition.

Traffic was not bad coming or going, but we went early, 9am.

We were in the grandstand seating in section B... Glad to see Nicky win again!!!  Anyone else here go to bike night?  And yes the heat was insane.. We rode to the races in t-shirts and shorts knowing it was going to be insanly hot.. We were there from 8am until just after the moto gp race...
