Title: Paint Job
Post by: pmdepr on July 14, 2006, 03:44:42 AM
The PO of my bike did a poor job of repainting the bike cuz he did not like the stock color. There are little specs and bumps and the finish does not look good. I would like to repaint the tank and panels. Is it possible to do a good job myself and if not how much would a decent paint job cost?

Thanks,
Pat D

most shops HATE doing bikes
if they do,  they usually charge $$$$$$

you can do most of the work but most of the spray bomb stuff will look like crap if you get fuel on it

best bet is to sand it down and ask one of the cheapy paint places to just base/clear it in one color

also $$$$$$ :o in one part of the country is $ :thumb: in another part of the country

I'd get a guy in his garage/house to do it.  Post an add on craigslist or what ever local board you visit.  Bound to be atleast someone that paints on the side.
