Actually, buying one for the track is startin g to sound very appealing, the guy does alot of trackdays and also rides a cbr600rr (track only). He says he just rides the 500 for economical purposes.

Yeah, I liked that too. Changed the wording a bit, though. :)

I'm really conflicted here. I'm very, VERY happy that the GS rider wiped the floor using the 'busas as a rag, but not much good can come with races on the streets and in the canyons. Call me a stick in the mud, but racing off the track seems irresponsible and squidly. :dunno_white:
It's like watching your son kickin ass in a street fight. Ya don't want him to fight and all......but damn it makes you proud!!!
Well...yeah.... :thumb:

Just remember what Pandy said...ok? and yes,... Them busas better watch out :icon_mrgreen:
street racin is bad, mmmkay
But if you are gonna street race, you should at least win. :icon_mrgreen:
street racing is kool as long as it is responsable. i only race in back alleys, the track is to far from my house
Nice......
A freaking Busa.......
So sweet.
I've done that to literbikes, but nothing has as much cred as a Busa.

Street racing in never responsible. By definition, almost.
I didn't do it on the street....
Ok maybe I did.
I'm sorry. :(
No I was just carving it up by my lonesome and on the way up I saw a liter-bike (specifically a 1000RR) and he was hauling ass, I could hear him even with my crappy helmet's wind roar from pretty far back. (actually had trouble hearing my GS over it AHAHAHAH)
He saw me and dug a little deeper for it, I went around him. Met him at the top of the hill, he shook my hand and asked about my bike and such.
Cool guy. Have his number somewhere.
yeah it is if ur bodies are watching for cops :icon_mrgreen: :flipoff:

Nick I knew the day would come when finally your posts became totally cryptic. No offense but I'm not sure what you meant.
Do you mean, "Yeah, street racing is responsible if your buddies are watching for cops?"
Or is it something else? (Hierogylphics maybe? A Haiku? The meaning of life?)
Really I don't want to rag on you, but could you go over your posts a little bit so I'm not so confused?
x
uhuhu pty over here, lol. i meant as long as you have someone looking out for cops u shoukld be good. me and my friends race alot on cars and we usually have someone watch the corner of the back alley for cops.

Not with squids
Nice story, When we were playing on the twistys in North Carolina (Deals Gap) I pushed my GS further then I had ever before and ended up out paceing a couple of 600cc sport bikes. But it is scarey as HELL taking those turns at full tilt. I think back now about how I was throwing the GS into those turns and scraping my foot pegs. EEK :o Its a huge rush, but you really have to be on your A game and and a super concentrated frame of mind. Nice thing though now is I can take turns in my neighborhood @ legal speeds and get down way low.
What you have to keep in mind when it comes to showing off is you can display your skills w/o having to do double the speed limit. :thumb:

Well with AJ, Tad and Nick discussing intracasies of prison-rape I think the Tard Farm is dead ahead......

Ok I will. You'd never be able to handle me anyway.

yes, there is. its north of me by quite a bit though, closer to Pandy I think. I didnt keep my gs500 though. Couldnt afford to, nor do I have a place to store an additional bike (otherwise I'd probably get a track bike). I love hearing stories like this though. People are convinced horsepower is the key...when its really skill. I used to run with 600's, liters and my buddies on their bandit1200's...all fell victim to my little gs, until I found a better rider (and there were lots of them)...
The beauty of it all though, is that if you dont keep up, you have an excuse (slow bike), if you kick ass, they have no excuse and you are obviously a superior rider. Rules still hold true when I'm on the track on my 600rr-liters are rolling roadblocks...
my favorite quote:
QuoteThe guy on the 500 learned how to ride, not just how to hold on and be a poser
I really enjoyed reading that thread. I hope it showed a lot of those posers that these 500s aren't just chick bikes.
There were a lot off good points brought up by a few different people about guys like that that only ride a bike to look cool.
I really wish I had some more funds to do more trackdays. I need to up my skills some more.

I would bet that statistics would show that more males than females ride the GS500 (easily, since 90% or riders are still male). So....just what *is* a chick bike anyway?
(In regards to Richmond, CA, Pablo is correct...it's in the East San Francisco bay area.)
