Hey all. I'm located out in Western MA and wanted to say hi!! I just got my first GS500 last night, a yellow 2004. I'm really excited to get it on the road, but first it needs some fixing! Also, does anyone know where one can get some manuals for the bike? I got mine from a private sale and he didn't have them. Thanks!! :thumb:
WELCOME!
Welcome to the site man.... You can buy a repair manual from the site sponsors. :thumb:
http://www.gstwin.com/ towards the top right hand corner.
Welcome to the site! +1 on buying the manual through GSTwins, since they get a portion of the proceeds that way. Also, feel free to post all your questions here... if it can be done to a GS, chances are good that someone here has done it..

where in wetsern MA? I'm from there too, in pittsfield.
Hey I'm in Northern CT.. maybe when u get your bike up and running, and I get mine registered () we can go for a ride.
I'm in Boston, but the riding in the city sucks so I might head out west for some open road one of these days.
When I bought mine two weeks ago it crapped out after about 150 miles of fun and I've had to tear apart the carbs and clear the fuel lines and I'm going to do a por-15 tank treatment. so... long story short, when I get it on the road, let me know if there are any particularly good rides out there.
and, if you post questions here everyone will do their best to help oyu. These guys have really helped me out with all my newbie maintenance questions. and if you search well, there is almost always a ton of posts on what ever you need to know.
re: manuals, I only have the Clymer and its worked well for me. some advise that you get both the Clymer and the Haynes manuals.
happy rides!
