hey iam from isreal and ihave some pro with my gs
he eat to mush gas what soud i do?
What do you mean by "too much gas"? How old is the bike? Is this a new problem, or a continuing one? How far can you go on a tank or gallon or liter of gas? We need a bit more information to be able to make suggestions.
model 92 eng 2001 full with full tank about 250 kl
Thats about 155 US miles. sounds about right, actually a bit good considering you have the older (92), smaller fuel tank. you should be able to get another 40-50kl out of the tank if you switch to reserve.
...or is that also including reserve?
it is with the reserve
That doesn't sound to horrible for a 92. How hard are you running it? I mean check the pressure in the tires. Keep the revs a little lower when cruising. Dont do 180kmph like our aussie friends. Check to make sure your air cleaner isnt clogged. Get the carbs cleaned as well. If your in Israel then the bike might have eaten a lot of dust and dirt. Have you checked?
I have '93 and I confidently get 200mi on the tank. My consumption is about 55 mpg.
Have you checked the tire pressure?
Jenya
yes the rear tire is new idont run 180kl how can i clean the carb by my self? oh and the air filter is new
yer man i have the same problem i have gs500f and it uses about 7L every 100km (some cars use less then that ) BUT i think it might be because my bike is on the redline non stop maybe you have the same redline problem as me
no dont thinks so
oh well if you right hard you will use alot of fuel
Things to check if fuel consumption is high:
valve clearance
carburetor adjustment and synchronisation
Although engine is from 2001 it had 5 years of Israeli use(i.e. hot conditions year round and abuse usually) so compression check is in order
What about oil consumption? If it's also high, then this accompanies high fuel consumption and indicates wear on engine
