take yopur bike for a spin, if it boggs down when you hammer on it, you need a rejet.  I put a K&H drop n on my 05 a couple days ago ad it bogged down, i getting the carbs cleaned and a rejet.  you only need a rejet.

I think by memory with the dyno tune on mine he drilled out to a 125 main but thats with the K&N and exhaust system I seem to remember him saying standard was 112 but not 100% sure but might give you a guide to work fromĀ  :thumb:

remebering my bike is in OZ most others US

Bogged down = Flat spot

You dont need to rejet as long as you keep te restrictor in. If you rejet correctly and take restrictor out you will feel some difference. If you wont jet correctly your bike will suddenly lose power at some rpms for a short bursts (stumble, flat spot).

If you feel like you want to mess with the bike do the rejetting, if you rather ride the bike as it is, don't. I chose to fiddle with the carbs, spent some time and money and got it about right, so i am happy. If you cant get it right and start feeling unhappy just put the old stuff in.

hes riht man, i had originally purchased the drop-in, but i just ordered the 30 dollar lunchbox, like he said, its dumb to rejet for a drop-in, unless your getting an ebhaust too or somthing else....  if your able to return it, take it bak and get the lunchbox...

You're kidding, right? The GS is weak after 9K because THAT IS WHERE POWER PEAKS, and then FALLS OFF.. making it feel weak. BECAUSE IT IS. Here's an idea.. when you hit 9K... shift!

seriously.. if you're pushing the GS to top in 5th/6th frequently.. just get a gixxer six. Or hell, a 1K, you seem like you need the 1K. How often are you honestly trying to hit 110mph or so? And for how long? And why? If you want to get to top speed quicker, forget jetting, carbs, etc.. get a 14t sprocket. Bam, you're set.

if you ave no other mods you need to keep it on, but if you put an exhaust on, you can take it off. i kept it on, but i just ordered the lunchbox, so im getting rid of the entire air box..  im hoping to have an exhaust very soon!
