Title: Knee Guards
Post by: LPC2104 on July 20, 2006, 07:25:50 AM
I'm having problems finding good pants for a good price and I don't really like wearing jeans all the time, especially since I've started going on some real rides.  I'd like to get some knee guards until I find the right pants.  Does anyone have any experience with any of the ones posted below?  Any thoughts???  Thanks,

These seem like a catcher's shin guards.  20$

These seem a little better.  60$

Anyone have any thoughts on them?

My BF wears knee/shin guards similar to those in the first pic, and he's very happy with them. The ones in the second pic look....like the guards on Star Wars should be wearing them.  They look a bit bulky and uncomfortable...have you tried them on?I'd be curious to know if they feel as bulky and uncomfy as they look.

I haven't tried either on.  It sucks trying to find good gear where I live.

I'm thinking the second ones will be much more comfy and stay in place better in the event of a crash.  Also, they are shown on the outside of the pants but they are recommended to wear underneath jeans (which is what I'll do) so I'm not too concerned with the look.  More of a fit and protection thing.

the one's I wear, I got from New Enough.  http://www.newenough.com/armor_icon_field_armor_leg_page.htm  they have separate knee n shin thingo's.  You can adjust the knee and ankle separately(which helps if you need to move the shin stuff up higher to get you boots to fit)

If I had knee guards like that, I'd wear them with shorts.
