they actually make cafe seats like that for the motorcycle that are universal. that one sort of looks like the Vmax add on though i forget where that front suspension comes from but i remember going into an old bike shop and back into the ware house and seing a huge red bike with front suspension like that, very cool. and the head light. im not sure because i dont know where to go for aftermarket headlights. :dunno_white:

LOL, steering that thing would be like standing on a stepladder with the handle bars on the top. The front of that bike must push clouds out of the way when it goes along its so high compared to the rest.

The GTS 1000 was supposed to compete with a Concourse kawi and the gold wing of the late 80's ...
Cool.

Yes, there is a very good article in motorcyclist this past month. Instead of typing all day, here is a link to sum it up quickly. This bike is crazy. THe handleing is supposidly crisp and fan-freaking tastic.

haha, I forgot to put it in there.

Overcomplication for overcomplications sake?

I seem to recall seeing that bike in person.  I was attracted to it by the U-shaped main frame machined from a piece of plate.  Yes, it looks very uncomfortable.

Turd,
You've seen my bike? The last time I posted it was ages ago. The last time I was even here was ages ago. They weren't even good pics. It is a bit different since then... like the site. It's looking good around here. Lots of unfamiliar faces though. I feel like an old man. (no offence Jack)  haha

Sorry to here about Rich, I made him an honorary PA resident. Good guy.

Yeah, I've actually been around here for quite a while.  First I was just a lurker and then I posted under a different name.  I've seen one picture of your bike and it was a rear 3/4 view.  I've read quite a few of your posts and I have always been impressed with your knowledge, taste and helpfulness.  Its great to have you posting again as this board has been falling on hard times in the past 9 months or so.

Yeah its some mark of Bimota "Tesi". They have been playing around with front swingarm designs for years now. Every once and a while they produce a limited number of them for sale when they need to keep the lights on.

If you don't know, Bimota is an Italian company that has specalized in taking other people's engines and building really cool, cutting edge frames for them. Their stuff is always a generation ahead in technology and styling. This is sometimes super cool, but some times... wierd.

GTS1000 - Remember the GTS came out in 1994(!) swingarm front, fuel injected, ABS brakes. It was beyond state of the art. That was probably why it didn't sell well...

I've always had a think for leading swingarms.  One reason I am thinking of getting another GS is to use as a test bed for some non-fork front suspension ideas I have.

The Britten did  a front end sorta like that.. and in my oppinion far more refined...  (http://www.britten.co.nz/photos/images/dcp_0151.jpg)

His bike is one of the most winning Vtwins proto types around...

Not really. It was a Hossack, girder typle. It replaced the telescopic forks but still acted like one. A leading swingarm behaves and operates completely differently.

But yeah, the Brittan was definately more refined... :thumb:
