Title: WHAT A DEAL
Post by: shmdalum on July 23, 2006, 05:57:00 PM
So back in May I bought a 04 GS500F from Hilton Head Motorsports with 4200 miles on it for 5k cash. Well 3 months went by and no title. There was tons of issues. Prior owner bought from a dealer in Savannah that had changed owners and the buyer never titled it in their name.

Well I brought it back today. They had a 05 GS500F left over brand new, no miles, 1 year Suzuki warranty etc... They did an even trade. I drove the 04 for 3 months and put almost 2k miles on it, I'm thinking I got a good deal.

Whats everybody think.

I've had a Ninja 500R and a SV650 for a short time, and the way gas prices are going and the fact that we are building a house about 40 miles from work prompted the buy. I'm so excited but would love to hear what all of you think...

Definitely a great deal!  I'd do it if the dealer ever let me.

Awesome!

im really glad you got the 05 brand new.

The original 5K you spent was a rip man, i paid 4200 out the door for a used 05 with 1300 miles.  God thing you got that trade.

Of course, you have to remember, when you buy a car or bike, no matter used or not, you can talk anyone down, especially a dealer.  They make soo much money if you buy it for the price shown.

That makes me feel good.  I bought an 06 from a dealer a month ago and paid $4,800 for it new.   :)

I just saw the bike online and called the dealer to see if he had one in stock.  It was a 2 hour drive so I wanted to make sure he had one before I left.  While on the phone I asked him what the out the door price is and that was it.  I tried to get him to kick a free helmet in the deal but he said for that price I could buy my own helmet but he would mark it down some.  I got a HJC CL15 helmet for $122 tax and all so that wasn't a bad deal either. :)

Because of all the inconveniences and issues with the dealership that was their effort at a mutually agreeable fix to the problems. Customer satisfaction, gotta love it... Even though I would never buy anything!!!! from them again.... total scam artists. Frieght 299.00, Admin 259.00 (and they dont even tag or title it in Georgia so whats the admin fee) and 299.00 build fee... This is all on top of the retail sales price....

Got my 2006 for $4700 with no hidden fees, that's what I paid and left with the bike.  That did NOT include title, tax, tags etc.

If you are happy with your deal then it was a good deal.  I am glad they got the problem fixed for you.  I was just saying that it really makes me feel like a good deal.  My $4,800 did include the tax and title fee.  The tag was only 15 bucks! :thumb:

Yeah, glad to hear you now have a new 05', that was way too much for a used 04'.  I payed about $4800.00 for my 05' new, and that was taxes, tags, everything!  Enjoy the new ride!!
