Title: reconstructed title question
Post by: wildbill on July 29, 2006, 09:29:46 AM
hi, i just bought a 95 GS500 with a recontructed title in PA. I was wondering will i have any problems registering/insuring the bike. It looks fine and only seems to have comsetic damage, nothing major. If anyone has some knowledge on this, let me know please. Also when i tranfer the title to my name, do you think the DMV will just give me a new title not saying reconstructed in it?

Should be able to take it to the DMV and as long as you have your blinkers turnsignals headlight Hi/low title/bill of sale and DOT gear on it... Usally they inspect it so make sure it looks pretty. If they come out and it looks like junk they will start nit pickin.... they should issue a new plate... state law is a little different there. But don't know how much different it could be than CA....

in PA an "R" title is the same as any other.. just take it to AAA or any other Notary have the normal paperwork done and in a few weeks.. you will be issued your very own PA "R" Title... It is basicly a bad mark against the vehicle... your registration and insurance will be normal  :thumb: ... The bike will always carry an "R" Title... however.. it doesnt effect the title, registration or insurance in anyway !  :thumb: other than saying "reconstructed"
