I thought that surely we had some rules somewhere, but I can't find anything close. There are rules for the For Sale thread, but that's all I could find.
Since I've been here (Last year around this time, I've never seen any.
Oh god, TF this now.
I see bad things in the future. A practical police state if you will.

Note what the bold underlined section says. that is the rules even though substituting the works a motorcycle for Suzuki GS500 is also acceptable. If I'm worng someone will smack me.

I don't. Why not just set down some basic rules so that there will be consistency? It doesn't have to be much, but it would allow for some consistency.

Yes, but what constitutes being a duck? It's very subjective. I think squids are being dicks. Others think that calling them dicks is being a duck. Hence the reason for asking.
We have moderators for a reason, learn your own personal rules from what you've seen other people do. Hence first warnings before proper bans. Theres no need for set rules. Also they would just get lost in the high volume of posts. And finally it will just end in a big argument.
Just my thoughts for rules to help keep the General Discussion area more legitimate.
The 3x3 rules, only for General GS500 Discussion "A place to discuss anything that deals with the Suzuki GS500"
Rule #1 Search first, then post.
#2 Don't be a duck, if you have a hard time with this then don't post here.
#3.Stay on the topic, and if you can't help any don't post.
And then on your third warning from any Mod you get the BAN.
Anywhere else is open grounds for anything and if someone does not like it they could always leave that topic.

I agree with your first two statement. However, would you want to ban them for the board for discussing squidly matters? That's what I use the filter between my ears for.
Having said that, the signal-to-noise ratio for me
has dropped, but, hey, that's life.
