I rode by a black GS500 parked on 72nd street right off of central park west last night... two helmets on it... is that anybody here???
Just a question I have always wanted to ask you folks in America...
what do you do in a city like NYC when its snowing and freezing etc... do you still ride? I have been to NYC in summer, but thats cool cause its as hot as Sydney or Brisbane. But we dont get anywhere near freezing in most capitals in Australia.
I would imagine traction would be a killer? And they put salt on the roads right? thats gotta be good for a metal bike? :nana:
?????????
We'll I can't speak for NYers but here in Kansas City the weather changes a lot. As long as the roads aren't slick and it's above freezing I'll ride. Just have to bundle up real well.
When I lived in Toronto, Canada I (and most other bikers I know) got 6-month insurance and stored our bikes from Nov. to Apr. It's too damn snowy to ride and the odd nice, dry day didn't justify paying insurance for half a year. I'm lucky to be able to ride all year in beautiful (wet) Washington.
I live in Brisbane and the weather is nice for riding in Winter, especially with the visor up.
It's refreshing, although you got to look out for the Frosty Snot. It's embarassing sometimes
I'll ride into the mid 20's as long as there isn't ice or snow on the roads here. Heated grips come in handy for any time longer than 20 minutes or so.
They do not work as well in stop and go traffic though. Your hands need to be on the grips and off of the frozen levers.
On that note, it's 85 degrees and is going up to 100 today, so I'm finding some twisties :thumb:

I live in Toronto, snow and ice are not a good combination. We PAY FOR A FULL year of insurance even though we can only ride six months of the year. Can you say SCAM ?
Welcome to Canada.
Holy ancient thread Batman ...
Anyway, Scamada ... canadia (too much like India). Ofcourse there is the ever famous CAN-ada.
Cool.

Yes Robin, from time to time things are resurrected for the better or worse.
