I found a bike for sale in my area I think *might* be my bike that was stolen. I'm going to try to go look at it but I need a way to determine without certainty, and that is the VIN. Is it stamped on the bike somewhere, I didn't have it long enough to find it and the manual is with the bike?
Also, is the manual available online anywhere? I looked at the suzuki web site and I couldn't find anything.
on the top frame tube on the left side there will be a plate riveted on, and then again on the head tube (the part of the frame that the forks bolt to) it will be stamped into the frame. you should have it written down already on the loan paperwork or on the title if it isn't financed, so i'd take that with me, and then verify it there, and if it isn't yours take a piece of scratch paper to write it down on, and if he dosn't want you to write it down just call the cops with him standing there and report it as posession of stolen property.
Great thanks. Of course I have MY VIN #, but I just didn't know where it was on the bike. I'm still not exactly sure by your description but I should be able to find it.
Basically, on the left side of the frame, under the tank.
