I have one of these.  a yellow one.  I stare at it every day.

wishing I had a machine that could make my scale model bikes into real bikes.
I have a parking lot of scale bikes parked in a row on my desk.  the duc 748 has always been a fav.

but I love my GS and would never...ever...ever...let it hear me say I would trade it in a heartbeat for a duc 748.

Your GS won't care.  Sometimes, GS's just need a change of scene.  You'd be surprised how happy it can make them!

This just seems like the Deal of the Century to me.  A 2001 Ducati, well maintained (I know the guys at Letko, where it is serviced.  First rate).  6000 miles.

$7K.  That would be sweet.

maybe your right.  I have 3 GS's anyway.  If only I had 7k to throw away.

I would finance a bigger bike if we could ride them to their potential legally, and not have to transport and pay for track days.

hmm wishful thinkin.

Riding a bigger bike to its potential?  What?  That is just silly.  Trust me: you can ride a bigger bikes to its potential.  You just have to pick your spots.  Long twisty road near the river bottom.  No cars in sight.  Just cows to either side of you and your riding buddies.
Life doesn't get any better.

Maybe I shoulda added legally and safely. Iv'e ridden bigger bikes and I ride them too hard. I don't trust myself.  If I ever get into track days, I may jump to a bigger bike, after I get good enough on a GS, but for the street, the GS is a safe bet for me.
It forces me to stay below 110mph. I can ride hard and have a blast without hitting 180mph.
On the bigger bikes I get that need for speed.  whatever.
