Can anyone give a good reason not to use a smaller reservoir for the front brake?
I have several smaller 15cc reservoirs from Yoyodyne, which were supposed to be used for the rear brake. I believe the stock front reservoir is 45cc. I plan on using these on my track bikes.
Note that I use GSXR master cylinders and these are remote reservoirs.

Heat dissipation won't come in eefect, as there is no significant exchange of fluid between caliper and reservoir.
I'd say for track it's fine, since you probably won't wear down pads during one race. For a streetbike the volume is to a large degree used to compensate for piston travel due to pads wearing thin.
Loosing fluid as the pads wear was my only concern since I do use dual calipers. But then I check all that stuff before riding anyway, track and street.

when ya go to the track you check/bleed/change it quite regularly
I don't think you could get enuff pad wear in a track day or session to change the level a noticable amt.
