Title: Don't do what I did.
Post by: LMT on August 06, 2006, 06:17:54 PM
I have an 05 GS500F.  The choke lever is very stiff so I figured I'd "loosen it up" with a very liberal amount of spray oil (WD40 and spray silicone).  Wellllllll guess what the turn signal starts to become erratic finally not working at all.  Took it to my local Suz. dealer (they're not my friends for other reasons) and, under the warranty, they did replace a "defective relay switch."  I didn't realize it until about 2 months later thinking about it.  It's still stiff (like the commercial "more than 4 hrs.") but I'm not going to oil it again.

You need cable lube.  It often comes with a tool like http://www.motoworldracing.com/Applied-Racing-Cable-Lube-Tool.html
