Title: squeekin noise
Post by: my1stbikegs500 on August 09, 2006, 03:31:37 PM
Hey guys...
I have a question...  Just recently I have noticed that a squeekin noise has started located near my tire.  I can only hear it when i go from about 0-15 mph, but after trhat it dwindles away or the wind gets too loud...  I'm not sure what it is.  I checked everything to make sure nothin was lose but i think maybe its the sprocket maybe squeekin.  I am planning on lubing everything up and see if that solves it but wanted some advice beforehand.

Any suggestions???

Bearings or brakes would be the predominants causes. You probably can't hear it over 10 mph either way...

What type of squeaking noise?  Is it a long squeak?  Many short squeaks?

Does it happen when you push the bike without it running?

Does it happen when you spin the rear wheel while it's on the center-stand?

Does it happen when you bounce the suspension?

Does it go away or get louder when you use the rear brake?
