Title: GS500F on ebay...
Post by: Turd Ferguson on August 12, 2006, 10:52:04 AM
Check out the tail on this bike.  Could deffinately use a paintjob, but it looks pretty good.  Anyone know what tail that is?  If it belongs to anyone on here...you're in the dog house for the "GSX-R" stickers.   :flipoff:

Eh, take a look at some of the other pictures. The subframe starts sticking out of it about halfway down, and the taillight is still stock.

well unless you wanna do what i did i chop the old subframe completly off and replace it with the gsxr subframe, probly voiding any sort of warranty, making it so you can never put the old rear end back on, thats all that you can do,
do you ever say anything thats positive alpha?? you must have had some twisted childhood

Oh burn!  Its getting personal around here.

I have a feeling that tail looks quite a bit crappier in person.  I noticed the subframe sticking out right away as well.

I don't think Alpha is negative, he's a nit-picker at times, but I can be too.  We're mechanical engineers!  Leave us alone.

Hahaha, oh guys! I'm trying, I'm trying!

And I think that if you're going to sell a bike with a custom tail on it you should at least make it look clean. That just looks tacked on (because it is). Why should huge gaps be acceptable from this guy but not a manufacturer?

ok ok, my bad, sorry
it is an imperfect job, and defently not what i would have done, but, without getting serious with the subframe, what else could have been done.
its not made to fit the gs, so in those respects i don't think it looks too bad, atleast its an attempt :thumb:
