if you haven't read it yet, you must read "Proficient Motorcycling" by David Hough. I have been riding since 1969, and when I read this book two years ago I found out how little I knew about riding. The author is a long-time rider and MSF instructor. You WILL learn how to ride better and safer if you read it. If it's too much reading, then get "Street Strategies" by the same author. It is mostly pictures, but still good info. You'll learn some things that will help keep your skin on and keep the cagers from killing you so easily. 8)
