Title: LED Amber Strobe Light
Post by: koganti on August 17, 2006, 06:47:53 PM
Since it will be getting darker sooner I was looking for ways to make my bike more visible.

I was thinking of adding a LED Amber Strobe light. To the back and front.

Amber is not viewed as an emergency light, just a caution light.

Any thoughts?

I'm the local automotive light expert in Western Mass (mainly cause I've gotten into loads of trouble.)

Any "strobe" lights are ILLEGAL.

If the light is just "blinking", then possibly legal (depends on placement and usage).  On a cage, the hazard lights are illegal to turn on when the vehicle is in motion (but police don't really care about small crap like this)

Any RED lights HAVE TO BE LOCATED TOWARD THE REAR, FACING THE REAR.  No exceptions

Any BLUE lights are illegal (unless you have a permit.) ( I didn't wanna apply, cause I knew I wouldn't get approved) (That was a fun five hours I had the lights)
