My full exhaust replacement isn't making a good seal with the headers and it's loud of heck. Are there gaskets I can pick up at the dealer to make a good seal?? Autozone had nothin. Thanks.
It does not sound like you have the stock gaskets at the head. They can found at most dealers or online. If you cannot find any, you can temporally use high-temp silicone instead.

hmmm...I'm not sure. no one else with a full yoshi system has had this problem. I think I have the exhaust gaskets.....guess I'll pick up a pair from the dealer tomorrow.
I think what I'm gonna do is cut the lip off the stock exhaust and take it to a shop to weld on my new yoshi pipe that way they fit in the exact same way as my stock exhaust :thumb:
Why? Is it shaped differently than the stock header pipe? There is a metal ring gasket between the stock pipe and the head. When you removed your old exhaust one or both of these gaskets probably was lost. Replace those and you should be fine.

I'm thinking the previous owner did something with this exhuast...like weld the exhaust gaskets too the stock pipe...
My stock pipe has a lip around it which makes it fit perfectly..Can someone tell me of this is what the gasket looks like. Here is my exhaust. The metal lip where the exhaust goes into the header. Those are welded onto my pipe. Should they be?

yes, that's normal. This is what the exhaust gaskets look like:

They're about 1/8" thick and fit into the exhaust port in the head.
What is the part number for the Yoshi exhaust? I haven't been able to find one anywhere.

He got it courtesy of The srinath (used) ... as always the srinath sells stuff and people just go crazy ... It fit and worked just fine in mine ... but If his exhaust gaskets are gone, I dunno. Usually you take it apart and stuff falls apart, as long as its in there bolted in, its great.
Cool.

Well it could be that I only have 3 exhaust bolts. The other is sheared of in the header. Going monday to get that fixed then I will work from there. I found I DO have exhaust gaskets in my headers. I ordered some new ones to replace the old ones. If using all 4 bolts and new gaskets doesn't work then I'm gonna cut the lip of the stock exhaust and weld it to my yoshi pipes. :)
Oh crap ... you're frockled ... I dunno how so many of these damn bikes have that happen ... I had one that lost 2 of the 4, of course I wasn't going to let it be that way ... so drill and heli coil ... but anyway its crazy.
I guess Beginer bike = beginner mechanic at the stealers working on it, and beginner parts being made for it and beginner everything. Assembled at the factory by beginner assembly workers ... yea ... unfortunate ...
Cool.
