welcome senoir,

you are trying to push 240+380....620 # with 40-odd HP.....0.06 power/weight ratio....45-60 MPG
gsxr1000......620# with 160 HP....0.26....20-25 MPG

it's simple math
yeah it is a turd

but we like it
if you are not all about 100-150 MPH squidly riding with your buds....it is fine for riding around and having fun

i don't understand the stuck up their ass part....what ever :dunno_white:

I rode 2up with my gf, our total weight = 290 lbs. and we were cruising at about 85 on the freeway. I'm sure it could have done more.

It will handle your weight well enough. Compared to what you ask? Exactly. Sit on one and see how comfortable you are. Also, don't expect to zip zoom fly, but it will get you from point A to point B in a simple fun fashion. My fiance and I ride 2 up also = 300lbs. Never had a problem.

Ok, thread jack... who can beat 300 lbs. 2 up with the lady? (or the man. I got the gals covered)

gf and I = 318 (190 are mine  :icon_mrgreen:)

it takes the GS just a bit more effort to start moving from a standstill, and a bit longer to brake and stop, but other than that... no problems at all.

Hmm.

I ride with about 45 KG of kit when I go camping.

Lets see, that'd be about 100 pounds.
I weigh in at 248 pounds.
so that's  348 pounds and I took that up and over the pass of the cattle near applecross in Scotland.

That road is 1 in 4 for a fair bit and the GS coped fine.
Top speed with just me on board is >90 MPH
0-60 time is under 10 seconds too.

The GS500 is no sports bike but it still out performs most cars.
