Riding beyond his capability.
Under those conditions, you let the bunny die.

F_uck Alton Brown. Who the hell IS Alton Brown? Is he the dude on the cooking channel?
Nobody cares. Stop reporting this kind of trash. Was he on a GS500 when he "went down"?
This is a GS500 Forum damnit.

Ok then Wilson. You stop talking politics. Cuz this isn't a political forum. Or a religious one, either.

I saw that!

My roommate recorded it on the dvr.  The coolest part of the show, was when they prepared vegetable/beef stew in a foil tin, strapped it on their BMW enduro's exhaust, rode for two hours, and dinner was served!  They cooked their dinner using the heat from their exhaust!!

I'm totally gonna try that when I got to deal's gap next summer.

That snowmobile rig was pretty slick, I don't think we have the ground clearance to make it work.
I think I would wrap a steak in foil and wrap it around a pipe.

BTW:
3/4 of Odds and ends isn't even bike related.
If someone wants a post to go away, leave it alone and it will slide to oblivion.
If somebody wants me out, complain to a moderator. If a moderator busts me, I will be more than happy to comply.

Why would anyone complain about this post?  You guys need to STFU.

I saw that crash.  That is a lot of motorcycle to drop on yourself.

Alton Brown is cool.  I don't care what anybody says.  Feasting on Asphalt is a cool show.  If that isn't proper subject matter (touring the country on a motorcycle) for a motorcycle forum, then God help us all.

Ranger, point taken.
I suspected that those who are interested, understand.
Those that don't, probably don't care.

Feel free to post away Codger. It's Odds and Ends. I was under the impression that pretty much anything goes here.

BTW, I knew who you were talking about.  :thumb:

Actually I thought it really was a good show. I'm not his biggest fan. But it didn't seem like any of it was faked. I thought it was really well done for Food Network.

Although I thought the bikes were more then a bit overloaded. And any ideas how much more he weighed at the end of those 27 days? There is no way you could say what he ate was healthy.

As for the fall. It wasnt at that great of a speed. Like i said the bike was overloaded (why when you have a SUV chase truck?) and the fall didn't seem to bad. But it knocked him out of the rest of the shows. And then you got to see how bad he dresses himself.

One of the bikes was running light, the rest were packed.
One of the joys of a chase vehicle is that you don't have to haul your own junk.
Although they fully admitted that they had an entourage, I think they wanted to give more of an impression of actually touring on the bikes.
