Title: Mounting Headlight on Naked 2004 Bike???
Post by: kwhines on August 21, 2006, 08:16:57 AM
I have a 2004 GS500F. I have removed the fairing and need a headlight. Has anyone used the universal dog ears that mount to the forks? Was wondering if this will work? Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, those that have done this use the stock pre-04 mounts and ears.
The forks are 37mm so as long as they can clamp on to them they should work.

Yup, we've just been using the factory mounting brackets that slide over the forks.

You should be able to get a headlight bucket off eBay for around $20 or $30 if you're patient, and the mounting brackets and tabs for about the same if you can take the time to wait. Hell, you might find someone selling one through the board for less than that.

Just check eBay pretty regularly. I search "(GS500*, GS 500*) head*"
That should get you pretty much every result for a headlight (headlamp, etc).
