that is exactly what i would do
Why are you guys afraid of spiders? They make great pets :thumb:
when i was younger me and my friends use to catch the ones in the woods that were not poisionous and had them fight each other....pretty sick seeing how a spider fights
I've been bitten by a recluse.
Other than the wolf spiders, I don't leave them hanging around alive.

no such thing, all spiders are poisoness - some just can't bite people, our skin is to thick (ex: daddy long legs)
And to some spiders might make great pets, but if i ever saw a giant hairy spider in my house, let it be in a cage or not i would die. i don't know why i feel that way it jsut seems that the feeling gets stronger as i get older.
In Russia there is the superstition that if one kills a spider in a house it will lead to a death in the family.
Not becasue of that, bu simply because I don't kill things that don't intend to harm me, I simply take a tall glass, cover the spider with it, shake, making sure that the spider falls to the very bottom and can't jump out, take it outside and gently release onto a plant leaf. Spiders do good job of catching flys and mosquitos.

  Yeah i know of the most poisoness myth. I just thing that the on i was talking about, the spider
(http://spiders.ucr.edu/images/holplu1.jpeg) Is poisoness to something. Harmless to humans but poisoness. I could be wrong but anything that is classified as a spider has venom and is poisoness, just not all are poisoness to humans.
oh and as for the some spiders not being able to bite humans i believed that, weather it is or isn't true
That myth was on Mythbusters...
The reason people don't get bit by the spiders is because they aren't very aggressive... They can bite you, but very rarely do.
Their venom is also not very poisonous... They milked and analyzed it... It was nowhere near the "Most Poisonous."
also the term 'daddy long legs' can be applied to several different things. most of the time people are refering to Harvestman spiders which arent really even spiders. a spider has a head and cephelothorax (sp) which is a thorax and abdomen fused together. the harvestman has one body piece.
someone correct me if i fed false info
That is essentially correct...you can see the body distinction here (which it's that distinction that removes them from the "spider" family):

Heh! We had a spider grow up on our kitchen Window this year, even fed it with moths.
But it seems the recently acquired young cats took too much of a liking of that crawlie...

Didn't see that episode but i would have liked to. I knew that it was a myth but it still would have been cool to see it. and the fact that they can bite but don't doesn't surprise me because most other venomess critters would rather avoid us than bite, threaten them and that is when they get you.
I think some of you that don't like spiders maybe watched to many old b horror movies like Attack of the Kill Spiders or Attack of the Trantulas
I wasn't scared of spiders untill i was bitten by and had what the Drs called a 'mild' reaction to a brown recluse when i was spreading multch. Even after that i was ok with them but it seems as i get older the fear gets worse, don't know why. I am ok with spiders if i see them but when they surprise me i freak out. I don't kill them unless they are in my place and even then i will try to release them outside.
Poisonous. Dude. Poisonous.

Yeah, and I don't want to be eaten by giant spiders like all THOSE folks were! ??? ;)
Ever since moving closer to the mountains (right next to the start of ACH), I've had to deal with way more creepy crawly things. I hate spiders. I hate bugs and insects period. I kill 'em. I kill 'em good.
