I pulled into the gas station across from my house. There were about five or six other bikes at the other end of the parking lot.
I wasn't really paying attention to the riders walking over to me... (mainly cause I was paying attention to a cute girl walking by with a short mini skirt :kiss3:)
Anyway... ALL OF THEM came over and they're like "Hey dude... What is that? A 500? That looks awesome"
The funny part??? I asked them what they were on... An R6, a couple GSXR's, and an RC51. But they were "amazed" at MY 500 bike.
They loved my rimstripes, helmet, and the yellow headlight bulb I got.
you're a total pimp now.

Mak! Wazzup!!!
You haven't been on for a while. What's been going on? Life getting in the way, like the rest of us?
Good to hear from you again!

It's nice to hear a good, FUN story about our beloved GS!!! And about someone saying nice things about 'em!!   :thumb:
Even all the harley and Honda Shadow riders at the MSF ERC were saying how nimble my GS was in taking corners. Motoracer (my instructor) was commenting on how I was practically scraping my fairings that day.

I was thinking about that too.
Unfortunately, there aren't many twisties in my area, so they'd smoke me on the many straightaways.

...but you got to make reel easy, subtle movements. At that distance it'll be hard to see what you're doing in those little bitty mirrors.
I've been noticing that I'm leaning more and more ever since my MSF ERC course.
It's funny... On the course, there are no obstacles to get in your way, so you can practice a bit more beyond your comfort level, but on the street, You still do the same things. :dunno_white:
physics are physics no matter where you are. Same principals on the track apply to the street. When you're in teh clear you'll be able to achieve everything you can in controlled enviroments.
Mak? Is that you? Long time no see.... How's the exhaust coming?
slip-ons still available...never could get hold of a bike to test fit the bigger stuff.
Mak!!!!
Dude I have to admit I'm bummed about the exhaust.
The slip ons. Hmm, any more lean clearance to be had with that? How much BTW? Could use t3h Ub4 1337 p0w4.
The slip-on is $140 shipped anywhere in the states. It's lighter a bit more compact...should be a bit more clearance. No bike, though, so I can't confirm.
Where are you mak? If you're in Cali I might be able to arrange Jenna's presence (BTW Jenna is my bike's name, no Jameson for you)
...you do know that I have my location writen right over there under my red X, right?
no. Texas isn't a location, it's a whole being. Kind of like being in the deep south, and kind of like being in the west.
BTW I'm blind.
Yeah so i guess it's not happening then... Damn.
UNDER the red X.
Must be a Texan thing.
I'm not sure if you're kidding or not but if you're not I'm SOOO not drawing you a f%$king picture.
Gruver TX, yeah i saw it after the first thing, where I said I was blind. And if it has to do with your avatar then well guess what, it won't load.
I know it doesn't load...otherwise I would have said "under my avatar". Its only a simple red x now...I need a new one...
Still must be a Texan thing.
...hippy...
Damn Skippy. I'm a hippy with an attitude problem. :)
Grrrr.... if you were closer I'd ride down and be there for three days, and to top it off I know my way around a shop so I could at least be of some help. Oh well.
So what's needed to make the slipon work, just slipping? Or is it a little more drastic?
cut off the stocker...slip new muffler on...tighten clamp and hanger.
Slippy.
What do you need test fitted? I am in Amarillo so it wouldnt be hard for me to be a test mule for you. Just let me know.
I need someone to, basically, loan me a bike for a couple weeks. I have to build a high-mount exhaust, which will take some time, then build a jig and test the jig. Email me if you're interested in helping...there's about a dozen people here who've been drooling over the idea for months.
