Title: My choke doesn't move?
Post by: Ryne on August 22, 2006, 01:49:11 PM
The subject basically somes it up. My GS was sitting for a few months, I clean the carbs and go to fire it, but the choke is stuck? It only moves like 1/30th of an inch. Anyone have a remedy? I can't really afford to take it in right now and I'm dying to stunt this bike. help please.

You could try a cable luber...maybe like this: http://www.protectall.com/cable_life.htm  It's $24, not sure if that's a good price or not.  Here's a link to the theory behind the cable luber: http://www.scootertherapy.com/clubepage.html  I need to look into something like this on my bike, the choke is just starting to get sticky.

Hope this helps...

Put a zip tie on the choke bar and use that ... What ... your bike is too good for zip ties ...  :2guns:
Cool.

never considered the zip tie.
i can stick my finger under the frame rail and pull it
then start bike with my left hand

i don't have a cable....

how much is a new cable?
your cable has seized..... clean with wd or carb cleaner and a cable luber....then lube.....  might work

takes about 6 min to change
