i was just wondering if anybody goes to bear mountain for the bike night they have there...
Ive been there...but its a long ass ride from my house
Where do you guys do most of your riding? Pastrana I'm not that far from you.
I've got a short (30 miles or so) loop around the Tomhannock Resevoir, nice and twistie, otherwise I head north through Bennington, VT and up to Rutland and back down through NY (130miles) or I head South of me and hit Taborton RD in Averill Park and then head to Cherry Plains State Park. But I'm up for anything where do you ride and if you're close to me why aren't we riding??? I get soooooo bored riding by myself.
Yeah me too. Are you north or south of Albany? I ride wherever I would love to do some riding up in the mtns. I ride the Route 30 around the Pepacton Res. alot when I am running around for work. I always ride alone except for when I reide with my buddy Joe who live out by the Finger Lakes. He's about 100 miles away from me I would guess your about the same or less. Anytime you want to get together and ride I'm up for that. I don't ride the GS anymore though but it's still dear to my heart.
i think both of you guys are pretty far from where i am..i lately i have been doing alot of riding through orange county and through out bear mountin and herriman state park..nice roads out there...if you guys ever come down my way..let me know..i think me and some of my firends are planning on taking a ride up to niagra falls if yah interested...
I'm in Rensselaer County, just north of Troy NY, across the Hudson to the east of Mechanicsville/Clifton Park/Malta and just south of Saratoga Springs
How far was it for you to come to Rich's Memorial. I live right by there. As a matter of fact you guys went right by me that day. I had no idea what was going on or I would have joined you. Julie did'nt invite to this site until after that day.
 well..from Bainbridge back to my house, was about 175 miles. I took RT 7 wasn't a bad ride..I didnt like 88 I dont have a windshield...if I still had the zzr it wouldn't be such a hassle.
Yeah 88 does suck! I sometimes take it to Cobleskill to get to Middleburg. Long boring ride.
7 runs right along 88 and brings you right into cobleskill, then I took that to 30a, to 5, to 50 and back home from there
How far are you from Midd? Maybe next time I'm up there we can hook up and ride.
Midd? :dunno_white:
I just bought my GS about a month ago and I'm looking for people to ride with. I live near Albany, but I'm willing to travel a little to meet up. Let me know...
I'm just north of troy! Guilderland isn't too far from me. How long have you been riding? First bike?
Middleburg. Sorry just lazy on the typing thing.
Yes, it's my first bike and I'm really enjoying it! Since you're near Troy, have you been to bike night at the East Greenbush Diner?
 i went to HS with all those guys..they're fun to watch but if you value your life..don't ever ride with them...someone wrecks on every ride they go on. They ride fast and lane split and run and stuff...they're nice people though and always willing to help out any way they can. They put on a nice little show.
Middleburg is about 60 miles from me, not a bad ride, and theres some really nice roads aroudn there. We'll have to let talismann know when/if we meet there, in order to get there I go right past Guilderland
Sounds good to me. By the way, you don't like to go fasst and wreck? :dunno_white:
 I like to go fast...I DON'T like to wreck...I paid too much money for my paint and I don't own a car so my gs is my only transport (other than my other bikes) so if I f%$k it up...I'm f%&ked..
I can tell you from experience that it hurts! Therefore I promised my body i would never wreck again :nono:
I've had my share of rash..mostly from being stupid...i didn't enjoy it so I stopped being stupid (off the lawn)
Oh I'm still stupid! I just don't wreck...knock on wood! I will most likely go to Midd...that's Middleburg for those who are a bit slow...lol ...sometime this week. i always find an excuse to got there when the weather is nice. Too bad the NE Ride is on the 30th cuz we could have rode then. But I am a hunter and cannot pry myself from my tree come hunting season.
Middleburg would be a good ride. From the Guilderland area you could take the back roads through Altamont, Gallupville, Schoharie to Middleburg. The Gilboa Dam is a cool place to visit. Let me know if you decide to take a ride!
hey now im a scholar not...I spend my time being sharp at Yale not...I'm not doing anything during the week..I'm an unemployed bum atm so let me know when you're going
Even during the day? I have to say I was really impressed by your knowledge of Native American Culture. I have a fascination with that. I think I was an Indian in past life.
Yeah I dont do anything..i sit around tryin to get people to talk in the chat room...
 I hope I know something about Native Culture, I'm half Mohawk..well I was...its complicated by politics :icon_rolleyes:
Random thought since you're down that way, have you been to the Iroquois Museum? If you haven't we should take a ride :thumb:
No where is it? Sounds like an awsome idea!
Remind me not to make you angry then ...you might have my scalp!
ummm no...lol we're normal people
Iroquois Museum (http://www.iroquoismuseum.org)
Its near Howe's Caverns
(http://www.iroquoismuseum.org/images/map.jpg)
really? cuz we "white men" (and I hate to include myself in that group) are Fu*&%^ing Crazy!!! :cookoo: I will check this out. I think I've heard of it and would love to see it.
They have a ton of my tota's (grandmother in Mohawk) stuff there, I use any excuse I can get to go and check out their new stuff
Well feel free to use me as your latest excuse. That's really cool about your grandmother. So how long have you been riding anyway? Gotta keep the bike talk going or we'll get yelled at by someone I'm sure.
You know it's funny...this has nothing to do with GSTwins but the whole time I ahve been talking to you today I have been juggling phone calls from our main office..apparently on of the new guys mistakingly marked down that he was Native American. Turns out he was not and they are in a real pinch to find a minority...affirmative action I guess..it's the strangest thing. Why can't we all just be people and get along that way. So now I'm being asked if I have any minority friends that need work so they can fill their quota...is it me or is something wrong with our society.. :bs:
lol i dont care if theres something wrong with society..where are you exactly? and what do you do? Im unemployed...and desperate..too long a of a commute though...
I've been riding since I was 7...on the road for 4 years..the gs isn't my first bike, its my...3rd I think..Ive got two others and sold my zzr600 earlier this year..I plan on getting a 675 asa I can afford it
That's cool. The GS was my first street bike...Me and my GS learned the hard way that riding a street bike is a bit different than tearing up the countryside on a dirt bike. I live in Greene, NY you went right through it on your ride. I work for a construction company as a Field Engineer but spend most of my time talking to bikers on the internet that don't care about society's whoes.
This is completely random and I'm probably the only hick who likes this..but the Schaghticoke Fair (huge awesome fair) is having a rodeo this saturday I believe...All my friends went back to college already and I have no one to hang out with..so if anyone is interested, I'd even let you crash for the night.
I am planning to go to the Schaghticoke Fair! I'm just not sure which day. I was thinking of going Friday, because I get out of work early. But, Saturday evening I think they also have the Figure 8 Demolition Derby. I can't pass up a good demo derby!
Fair food....yummy! Where is that at?
Pastrami, If your interested I may be able to get you some work as a flagger in Middleburg. Great pay!
Pastrami, Just got done talking about it and if you want it I can put you to work temporarily anyway. How's $35.00/hour sound? :o Let me know. I think I can use you as early as next week.

I probably wouldn't be able to make it for the rodeo. I would be getting there around 5 or 6 on Saturday. I'm not sure what time I would get there on Friday. How should I find you? Should I just have you paged?!
noooooo  don't have my paged I'll PM you my cell number
