Does anyone else have motorcycle dreams?
Before I got my first bike I dreamt about getting on a bike and revving it and taking off. Now that I have one, I tend to have motorcycle loss and damage dreams. i.e. once it was stripped by thieves and left stranded up high on a chain link fence. I think it's cause I identify with it so much. For example, last night I dreamt the left side crankcase cover on my 500 was dissolving and an object was coming through, it was a steel threaded cap with a black rubber washer on it. Eventually the hole opened up til it was permanently large. I was bummed I'd have to get a new bike, or replace the engine. The guy from the shop was waiting for the verdict. Id have to get an sv650. I think it has to do with growing and changing, i.e. Im outgrowing my old way of capping myself and have to move on to other things.
No, you're probably nuts.
But probably no more than anyone else here.

Nope no motorcycle dreams. Matter of fact I don't think I dream or if I do I never know about them.
I have motorcycle dreams all of the freakin time. My favorite one was not something I remember...but actually something my wife remembers. I woke up to her laughing at about 4 in the morning. I said, "What the heck are you laughing at?" She said, "Uh, you were talking to someone in your dream. What is a Hayabusa?"
Turns out I said, "A Hayabusa, huh? Is it shaped like a huge pee pee?"
Hell yeah, I'm calling out squids in my dreams, too.

I've had a dream that I completely wrecked my bike, opened the throttle too much and sent the bike 30 feet in the air and into a ditch :o(guess I think pretty highly of the little GS). I woke up really disappointed, took a while to realize my bike was right outside and unharmed. It almost felt like someone bought me a new bike! :icon_mrgreen:

beter to wake -up sad and disappointed than soked and pissed
I just woke up from a motorcycle dream a bit ago. I was at a store and went into the parking lot to find my bike stripped down. Except that I didn't ride my bike. I had gone to the store with my thesis advisor in his car, and furthermore I couldn't have ridden my bike, because I didn't have all of my gear on. However, my key fit, even though the ignition didn't look like mine.
They took the tank (the one with the JB Weld on it keeping it from leaking), and changed seats for one that didn't fit right, and stole my bikemaster clubmans and put some loose (had to move them to get to the ignition) ape-hangers on instead.
I went outside to walk the dog and was relieved to see my bike in one piece.

Never had Motorcycle dreams, most of my dreams really suck...last night I dreamed about writing SQL statements... :dunno_white:
i remember my dreams about once or twice a week. Normally the ones that i remember are just wierd. when i have nightmares though, this is great, i seem to take control of the dream and start killing things. I love nightmares for this reason
Happens all the time when I'm at work. :o

For dreaming it, or writing it.
All real programmers dream code.
Either. I'd rather write intel assembly than work with freaking database queries.

I've always had flying dreams. Puts you in the weird position of never (in "reality") having flown (without an aircraft), but knowing exactly how it feels to do so...
Lately I often seem to be flying along the roadways, about 15 feet above the surface, in riding position... no motorcycle, though, just me.
This is soo true, i feel as though i know how to fly and im pretty good at it but i lack the ability of flying, but if i ever get a jetpack or something, ill be an ace pilot thats for sure
Once i had a dream that i was in blank space, and there was a big toy train, but lifesize, it was goin around on a random track that was floating in the air and there was no engineer driving, just a hat and the clothes in the place where the driver would be, i was flying in the air around the train, and the train was carrying loads of girls, but they were all still liek manicans, it was a very messed up dream, one of few that i actually remember, but i normally only remember dreams for an hour or so after i wake up, and as time goes on i remember less detail of the dream
I've dreamt about my bike.
After my crash lots of nightmares. Lots.
Now I dream about getting on it and being chased, I never end up being caught though.
Still have crash nightmares from time to time.
I have had 2 or 3. The first one I was on a red R6 and was going down one of the roads here in town. Throughout my whole dream I remember thinking 'hey this is pretty easy', and then in my dream I rear-ended a truck cause I couldn't brake fast enough. I wasn't hurt and the bike was somehow ridable? But I remember in my dream I had to fix it fast before my dad found out because he didn't know I had the bike yet.
I dreamt that I crashed my dad's SV650s last month... Wait, that wasn't a dream   But yeah I dream of bikes all the time, especially of my old EX500, man I had so much fun with that thing... In the past month, I've mostly been having crashing dreams though.
Oh and since I'm new, maybe I should introduce myself.
I'm Katia and I just bought a GS500 yesterday. Woo!
I have a recurring dream where I'm on my bike, wide open throttle, but I'm barely moving. I wonder if that means anything?....
From www.dreammoods.com :
To dream that you are trying to run but cannot make your feet move as fast as you want them to, signifies lack of self-esteem and self-confidence.
looks like somebody has an inferiority complex about his bike

I had a moto dream the other day... I can't remember it now... But I remember thinking about this thread when I woke up.
I had a dream a week ago or so where I saw an opportunity to buy a new Hayabusa for $1000. I HAD to take it, even though I didn't want one, and knew that I was being squidly and was absolutely sure that I'd crash it on my first ride. Sure enough, I went for a group GS ride and someone on a purple GS (Scratch? Pandy?) cut me off when we were turning into a gas station, I had to brake hard during the turn, and I lowsided.
Totally forgot about it until I saw this thread. And if I recall, I don't remember ever wringing the throttle, making it a complete waste of a dream.
Then again, it could have just been malaria or some other tropical disease from the thousand mosquito bites I've gotten...
It's funny, for years I had dreams about just getting a bike. There was always some convoluted process I had to follow to get to the dealership. It would be like this weird journey I had to go through. These were epic long dreams with plotlines and the whole deal. They always ended the same though. I didn't get the bike. Something always happened, the bike was already gone or I woke up just as I turned the key...etc. etc.
I've actually had so many of these dreams over time that when we got the new GS I had serious anxiety that something would go wrong or fall through all the way up until she was parked in the garage.
Now the bike is mine...when I turn the key I don't wake up...haven't had that dream since :icon_mrgreen:
Although, now that I have read all of the responses to this thread I'm probably going to start dreaming about crashing.
