Title: Someone please...
Post by: Alphamazing on August 29, 2006, 10:27:25 PM
Someone please inform me of how f%$king stupid I am.

I am taking Vector Calculus (technically it's Vector and Tensor Analysis). It's an 8am class.

there's plenty of real world uses for that...no really.

Sometimes I think better first thing in the morning.

Of course, "first thing in the morning" should be right about 2pm

It was called "statics" here.  It is a pretty important foundation class for the rest of your engineering career.  But dude...8am?  Dumb ass.

I shouldn't really talk...I've got "The Internal Combustion Engine" at 8:05am and "Finite Element Applications in Mechanical Engineering" right after.  I'll polish off that early morning breakfast with a little mid-morning carbon fiber snack in "Composites Lab".

You're going to die.

And I'm taking philosophy. At like 5:30pm.

No no, Statics is a seperate class that I'm also taking. This is a Math course. But if they are similar, maybe that will help. I am thinking that Vector Cal will be quite a bit more difficult than Statics. This doesn't bode well because I didn't do too hot in Statics last semester (pulled off a D). I was lazy and slacked off a lot last semester though, so this one should be entirely different.

Are you guys both suffering fromt he same misspelling?  I'm thinking STATISTICS, but that's because I've never heard for a STATICS class...

No, statics is the study of forces and moments of stationary objects.  Its an engineering course.

Okay Alpha, we called that class Calculus III.

Good luck my dear friend.

In seven years of higher education, I had one class that started before 9:45 am.

It was a law school class called "Legislation".  A little more than half way through the symester, I happened to be in class.  I knew the answer to a question the professor had asked so I raised my hand, happy to throw my hat into the Socratic ring.  He looked down at the seating chart and said, "Yes. . . Mr. Rew."
I said, "I'm not Mr. Rew, that his this guy next to me."
He said, "Who are you?"
"Jake."
He said, "Your not on the seating chart, Jake."
I said, "I should be!  I'm in this class."
He said, "Yeah, it is the 17th week of class and I've never seen you before.  You bet you should be on the seating chart."
A few weeks later, I borrowed an outline from Mr. Rew and ended up getting a B+ in the class.  Mr. Rew got a B.  Sometimes, having anonymous grading and one test per sysmester is an advantage.

Calc III for us was 427K, Differential Equations.

I showed up to class on time at 8am. A student teacher walked in and said, "Doctor guy won't be here today. No class. Bye bye." My next class is at 12pm. I'm bored.

My noon class got let out early. I have been here for almost 6 hours and have had about half an hour of class time. This is getting boring.
