I used a tank bag for the first time a few days ago.. and it pretty much destroyed the paint on my nice new 2005 tank.
some of the scratches look rather deep, but some i'm thinking i may be able to fix.
how to i fix surface scratches?
use very fine rubbing compound and take your time followed by a good wax drop by my place if you want ,i've got some stuff
It was probally dirt on the bag and or tank that did the scratching. Never set the bag on anything dirty (like the ground) when removing the bag. If you ensure the bag is clean and keep the straps snug, you shouldn't have a problem. Also keep several coats of wax on the tank to reduce the chance of scratching. I've used a bag for a long time with no problems.
