Garland here. Just bought an 02 GS500 off of Craigslist. First time rider at 46 years old. Enjoying the hell out of it but family is pretty upset about it.......especially wife.

Know of the best places to ride a bike in DFW area? Any good places in Garland near Firewheel Town Center where I live?

Barry

I grew up in the DFW area, now live in western OK.

A good site for finding good roads:

I like to stay AWAY from traffic and ride back roads where you can see pretty sights and enjoy the twisties a bit.  The GS is good on roads like those!

Thanks for the link Trumpetguy. I'll check it out.  Sounds like we share the same philosophy regarding riding in traffic. Part of my fear of riding in traffic is inexperience, however, I've always been safety conscious in everything I do which is why my family is so shocked that I bought a bike in the first place. I question my decision every day until I fire it up and ride into that altered state that feels like nothing else I've experienced

I live in Arlington.  The best road to ride in this area is 157.  It gets good at the 157/287 intersection and goes well beyond 157/67.
