Title: oil filter stud, and pan bolt size?
Post by: bargovic on September 08, 2006, 04:48:50 PM

So i got my bike back from the shop.. brought it down for inspection and valve check. so i had em change the oil too.  I noticed today that oil was leaking from the filter cap. so i figured the gasket is probably pinched... or the bolt isnt tight.  went went around the oil filter cap and also the oil pan underneath tightening the bolts. sure enough i snapped em.

one bolt from the oil filter cover.
one bolt from the oil pan.

@*(%&@!!. Pantablo's site says the oil filter cover bolt is 6mm X 1.00, does anyone know the size of the bolts for the oil pan??

Also, the bolts are both broken off inside where it threads, how hard is it to use an EZ out?

  Sorry...given the name of the tool, that question just sounded funny.

EZ outs have seemed to work well for me.  Left handed drill bits will sometimes do the trick, too.
