I have a 92 GS500E with 24k miles. I needed a professional to remove a sheared exhaust bolt and my bike wouldn't start after changing a shim. What better place to take the bike than the dealership? This is my first time there :2guns:
Bike won't start b/c of weak battery. Ok I'm retarded for not figuring that out. I figured that wouldn't cost me any money.
Removing the bolt. They called and said it would take 3 hours of labor @ $74/hour. WTF 3 hours to remove a bolt? He wasn't take the header off. He took the front tire off and drilled it out with EZout. Ok I'm thinking that is a bit fishy.
Then I get a call telling me my forks are leaking. I know they are not leaking. He qoutes me 1.5 hours and $150 in parts. $150 in freaking parts. WTF?! Is he buying me a new front end?! I ask him what needs to be replaced and why it would cost $150. He said he didn't know. I told him no, do not change my fork seals.
Ok so 3 hours @ $74. That's $222 to remove a bolt. That's a bit much but I don't have a choice.
I show up to pick up the bike. The total bill, $359..WHAT THE F@#! My bike only cost $1100
$74 diagnostic fee for the battery
$74 * 4 hours of labor for the bolt.
$17 for an exhuast gasket. (WTF, I didn't authorize this and my exhaust gaskets are BRAND NEW, got em for $3 and put them in myself).
$20 shop fee (wtf?!)
plus some other bogus crap. I'm calling Suzuki Corp tomorrow. I obviously got ripped off and taken advantage of. I'm NEVER going back there.
Sorry to hear.
Did you complain to the service manager when you were in the building?
