Hey all, well all in all today was a good day untill the bead on my rear tire decided to take a vacation and fail. Right now i have pacer alluminum wheels, don't worry i didn't actually buy them they came with the truck. The question is I am afraid that the rim is not going to be able to take a tire anymore because of this blow out but i am not sure. The inside of the rim, where the bead seats, is in ok shape but the edge got a little chewed up. I will post a pic, the best one i could get tomorrow morning just looking for some advice on what i am going to have to do. If i have to get a new wheel i am going to get 4 steel wheels and new tires if not just tires........... :cheers:

Also concerned that it might have bent, not obvious by looking at it but still a concern ... stupid bead failure

or did the tire fail
the race cars(dirt) run 14-16psi and slide around real gud and don't unseat a tire very often
take a file or coarse sand paper and get the sharp edges
or just take it to shop and have new(used) tar installed
install tire and balance it the shop will tell you if it is bent
well it was on a road with normal psi, per what the tire said. The problem is that the asshats that put the tire on in the first place ballanced then wrong, they put the weights around the lip of the rim and with this type of rim they should have put it on the inside of the rim. they are the tires that came on the truck and they are piles of crap.....
Edit: and werase that is what i was going to do, take it to the shop i trust and see what they say, if bent i am getting steel wheels/tires and selling the remaining pacer wheels.

They are also bead-locked most of the time too.
Can't really tell from the pic but you should be able to put a tire back on the rim provided that it isn't bent around the lip.
well took it to the trusted shop in the area and rim is ok. 650 bucks later i have a set of BFGoodwrench All-Terrain T/As. Went down a size because the other tires were rubbing and they look great. Hopefully with this not so cheap tire I won't have a bead fail during regular driving or the occational milt off road run :laugh: :laugh:

Truck tire prices make me sick... I'm shopping for some 31x10.5's for my Tacoma to replace my balding Bridgestones A/Ts before winter. Right now I'm leaning towards some Firestone Destination A/Ts for about $500 installed (+tax). And I know the prices can go well past the $650 you paid for your BFGs
yeah i went down a tire size cause the other crappy tires were rubbing the fenders at full turn slightly. they look and ride great though and 650 included an alignment and stud replacement * 4, yeah the monkeys that put the rims back on the last time really liked thier impact wrench...
