im thinking since the gs wasnt rlly ment to have fairing (in a way) ... im thinking of making it naked. all i would need is a headlight .. right?
idk as time went on .... im starting to like them naked. but i want turds bike. that thing is gorgeous.
New headlight and new front signals maybe??
Or maybe just new mounting brackets for the front signals
yeah idk how all that works ....... i want turds bike. :icon_mrgreen:

Seriously, it's so easy. The only parts you'll need are:
7" headlight
Headlight mounting brackets (forks)
Headlight mounting brackets ("rabbit ear" tabs)
mirrors
And that's it. Everything else is plug and play.
alright. im going all the way with this ... thiers some scratches on my pipe .... everything else is all paint. how can i fix them?

Scratches on the pipe might be sanded out. If not, just make a slip-on.
Paint - if it's bad, get some touch up paint. Else, take some time with a polishing compound and smooth everything out. Wax it really well and it will minimize the appearances of the scratches.
btw, my bike was naked before Turd's bike!

Strip it naked. You can get a headlight and brackets for $20-$50, and mirrors for about $30 shipped. You can get a Kat wheel for anywhere between $25 and $150 depending on how lucky/awesome you are. If it doesn't have a rotor that's another $30-$40. You can get a set of Pilot Powers for like, $234 shipped. Other tires can be had cheaper. Lower bars? Between $20 for Bikemaster clubmans, to $160 for new SM bars. Want polished lips? $10 for paint stripper and tape.
So for an investment of ~$300+ (including tires) and some work you can have your own naked bike.
for headlight and brackets ... i dont shop online ... where can i find them locally?

Unless you find a crashed GS you can scrounge parts off of, you're going to have to get one from a user on the board here or eBay it.
f%$k

Get a range of sandpaper ranging from 200 to 2000 grit. Sand the spots decreasing in grit size (increasing in number). When you get down to the 800 range, being wetsanding it with water. Should be pretty smooth after that.
that wont scratch the living piss out of it?

That's why you progressively use a finer grain sand paper each time. It smoothes it out. Same concept when you paint.
Are you speakign of the riveted on polished stainless steel shroud? There you'd have to go up to finer grits and end by polishing it with a lambswool hood (exp?) and polishing compound.
why would you want naked you get hit by so much more wind dam i got home from work riding a naked K5 and my neck was so sore from being blown around so much (could of been because i was doing 170km i guess)
Just about anything you need for the bike, be it OEM or aftermarket, you can order at a half decent dealer. Your best bet would be getting a used headlight and brackets from eBay or a GSTwinner, but if you feel like blowing a lot of cash you can get them new from the dealer.
Otherwise, you could buy a Buell XB12s headlight from a Buell dealer for $60-80, make your own bracket, and look even more bad ass.
As for wind, it's not that bad, deathlucky is just a kitty cat that rides his brakes like a grandma. :kiss3:
The worst part IMO is you get more bug crap on your legs.
I saw a naked r6 the other day. That, combined with the rumble of my v-twin between my legs...I nearly got excited-juice on my seat.

Eh, I figured wet sanding with the finer grit sand paper would take care of it for the most part, but yeah, a buffing wheel would finish it off nicely.
