Yous guys might remember my last post where someone hit my bike and pushed it up against the curb by a wall (04f) well not even two months later my bike has been hit again....hopefully with less damage. I closed the store and went out side and noticed my bike was parked different. I usually back into a spot and have my front wheel lined up with the car next to me. Well my bike was turned sidways. I went and looked it over really quick to see if there was body damage.....none so I figured that someone just sat on it and was messing around but still pissed me off. So I get on to go home and notice the steering feels different. I have to keep the handle bars turned slightly to the right to go straight. When I get home and can look over it in the light I notice some paint on my rim and scratches on my left fork (looking at the front end)....I just got done taking it apart but nothing really looks damaged or bent. I was thinking maybe the fron axel was bent but it is hard to tell....any suggestions one what it might be.....The wheel appears to be fine same with the forks which is why I was just thinking the axel......did I over look anything, All help would be appriciated.

I've read some threads and people have said that loosening the triple clamps top and bottom will help with that problem.
Hopefully someone who has had to do this can chime in soon.
I bought my 99 and it was crashed(light damage), but the front end was not strait. The triple clamps were cocked to the left when wheel was strait. After taking front end off for maintaince( fork seals and tire) and reinstaling forks,axle, and wheel+tire, thing were strait. Before finall instalaton put the forks in through both clamps and turn slider tube 360*. if there is and binding forks will have to be straitend or replaced. Hope that helps you. P.S. I also put axle in oppisite way than the previous owner. Not sure if that makes a diference.

When parking in a car size space, I alway park back far enough that my rear light sticks out a few inches further than the back of the car on either side.
That way folk can see the bike before trying to swing into the space.
Or, use a cone. Or, a pallet; ask for one from your shipping department at work.
Or you could just lay your bike on its side whenever you go into work to just cut out the middle man. I dont think they will run over.......I hope not.
I was thinking just parking it next to the store window on the curb....if the corporate office of the store dosent like it...who cares. If they wont bother to put cameras to watch outside infront of the store then I will watch my bike myself....and if the land owner of the whole shopping area dosent like that idea well then she can go roll off a cliff because she wont bother to put cameras in the parking lots either. :2guns:

Where do you work?
EB Games...and it isnt like they dont have the money now since they merged with gamestop....it is now in like the top ten in game sales. And not to mention that the same corporation also owns barnes and noble!!!!
