Title: Torque and pattern for headbolts?
Post by: gmingst on September 14, 2006, 03:48:44 PM
I am going to do the 600 mile check this weekend, and don't have my manual yet.  Can someone tell me the torque on the headnuts, and what the pattern is?  06 GS500F

Also any chance I can reuse the valve cover gasket? or is it probably going to need to be replaced.

While I am at it I guess the torque on the exhaust nuts would be helpful as well.

Thanks
Graham

The pattern is cast in the head:

Front

5 1 3 7
6 4 2 8

Torque: 35-40 Nm    25.5-29 FtLbs

Thanks for the information.  It looks like wet weather tomorrow so I think I will work on this to pass the time.
