I don't know if you guys already seen this:  http://www.suzukifuel.com/index.htm
but it's a nice site by suzuki, with a bit of useful info. Also nice they chose GS to promote the issue :thumb:

My commute is 8 miles each way ... I could get gas once a week for the GZ and a tank a weekend on the GS ... hmmmmm

I haven't had mine long and decided to fill the tank and mile it out until I had to use the reserve.  I was going on average 90 - 100km/h with the odd sudden burst for passing.  I tried to do as little city as possible.  Managed to get 513 km from the main tank.  Then I tried to be the cool guy flipping to my reserve on the fly.  Got the petcock around and chug...chug...chug..chug....stall.  Could NOT get it started. I have since been reading the posts about PRI and such.  Would have been much better off reading them FIRST.

Oh well, so much for the 7-P method (proper pre planning prevents piss poor performance).  In future I'll check ALL posts before testing the limits of the bike!  All this to say that I was about 58 MPG on my K2 not counting the reserve.

Last time I did the MPG out... I was getting about 60-ish.  I fill up once-twice a week whether I need it or not, just to be safe.  It's about 40-60 miles a day depending on the house I go to.

I believe that is the way I am going to play it for now too.  At least until I figure out whether my reserve is set up properly.  I sent away for the Clymer's Manual and want to make sure the feeds are set to the right sides.  If I get that figured out I may try to run to reserve again...............just much closer to home.

I was getting close to arround 58mpg, ever after a pipe and richer jetting, but then i checked my spedometer acuracy with my GPS and it reads 10% high, so I'm assuming that my odometer reads 10% high as well, so that wouls bring the actual milage down to 52mpg or so. still not bad, but not as good as I thought I was getting. So all of you who think you're getting great mpg, just remember that most motorcycle speedos and odometers read way high.

I have an '04, bone stock.
On the interstate at 75-80 MPH indicated, I get 52 MPG.
On back roads at an easy pace, I have seen 62.97 MPG.
