So I just finished my rejetting. 40 pilots and 147.5 mains. Im thinking i got the wrong size cause i have a huge amount of black smoke coming out of my exhaust. Now I'm thinking the smoke is black because my bike is pretty old and could use a lot more cleaning, but is it also possible that there is just too much gas going in and its not all getting burned?
147.5 mains?
That sounds WAY too huge unless your bike is very modified.
I have a lunchbox and an exhaust. Not really that modified but i thought 147.5 would be appropriate
I had stock pilots and 147.5 mains I think or maybe 145 or something, but real close. I also had a air filter and exhaust mod too and mine ran well.
It sounds like you're running rich. I'd try smaller jets.
I swear, I'm going to start a rejetting kit similar to the valve adjustment kit. That way people can get it and find the best jets for their setup, (but they won't be able to keep those in the kit, or it'll end up as nothing but stock jets). The only problem is that I can't afford the jets right now. Probably some time in January.
There's this neat thing for cars that lets you change the jet sizes by turning a screw.
Even while it is running...
AOMFG!
Did you get bleeder-type pilot jets by mistake?
Do you have a full exhaust or just the can? If it's just the can, It dosen't make much of a difference. Either way 147.5 is too big for just about anything, except maybee a blower  Try a 140 and go from there.
I did get bleeder type pilots, but why does that make a difference?? The guy at my suzuki dealer said that would be all i could get, i told him that they have ones without the holes but he couldn't find them in a book.

There's your problem. Your dealer is a moron. The bleeders give you too much fuel. The non-bleeders were on the same page in the book I used. You need the Mikuni N151.067-40 non-bleeding pilot jets
145-147.5 mains are correct for a full exhaust and lunchbox.
Ah wrong style part, that'll do it :thumb:
