I bought a nano last year when they first came out. I really like the nano because I don't use it often and it was small and basically just used it when I walked to class or ran on the treadmill, but now...after like 9 months and very light usage, my screen is messed up. The LCD isnt working right. I've never dropped it or anything but it is scratched like most nanos....sorry the pic sucks..the glare on those things makes them hard to photograph..

Now my problem is...if I take it back to Apple and show them my screen are they going to give me a hard time and not fix it under warranty? My warranty is up in like three weeks. I know they were replacing some nanos for messed up screens but i thought that was because the screens cracked. Some people have told me to let the battery drain completely and tell them it wont hold a charge....that seems stupid to me...what should I do? I really dont wanna go spend a ton of money on another one..I got this one on an employee discount that I no longer have...
It doesn't matter HOW you got it. It's still under warranty no matter if you paid full price, or got a discount.
And it doesn't matter if the screen is scratched. I'm guessing there's a chip inside that's fried. That's still covered under warranty.
Good luck! And bring it in ASAP.

+1
hehehe they did indeed give me a new one, no problems...
Now..the real reason it didnt work....I sent it through the washer and dryer and it was fine, but I then dropped it from like 12 feet when I was painting the barn....I got a case and stuff so it will never happen again and I felt like a dumbass...but...all is well now :icon_mrgreen:
Bahaha... good. I have a nano and a 20g 4th gen... If they wouldn't replace it, I was gonna send you the nano in exchange for the forks. Now I get to keep my nano. yay!
Where have you found the best price for an iPod? I may get one for my g/f's b-day.
yeah if its under warranty then they will ship you a new one and you ship them the old one back, apple makes a killing on the entire ipod line so they will offer coverage unless you do something retarded and don't have the "Opps i dropped my ipod out the window" Coverage.
If your gonna buy an Ipod, dgyver, buy it from Sam's Club if they're in your area. you can get a 4GB nano for 239, and the best part is, Sams Club will refund your money for ABSOLUTELY ANY REASON. Tell them you sent it through the wash then used it as the football in a football game. They will give you back every penny, and you can get a 3 year warranty for 29 bucks not including the first year which comes with the ipod so you'll get a 4 year warranty total. I work at a sams and I have never seen anyone not get a refund. Even if your friggin warranty is expired, you can still get a gift card. I take advantage of it too, I get a 2 year warranty on my tvs I buy and jsut take them back after 2 years and upgrade to a new tv. I'm on my third one, started with a 20 inch apex with built in dvd player and currently have a 32" Philips HD flat screen. To sum it all up, take advantage of the largest retailer in the world. They don't give a shaZam!.
Wrong...new pricing beacause the new nanos are out..and totally get a nano because falsh memory is better. They now come in 8 gig too for $250 the 4 gig is $200 and the 2 is $150. The old pricing was 2 gig $189 4 gig $250
They come in pink now too...but thats ghey..unless ur a straight girl..then i guess its ok...
So what is the difference in the Nano and the regular iPod? All I can see is that they cost more and get less memory but are smaller in size.
nano = smaller, and they're flash, so absolutely no skipping, lower seek times, etc...

The regular iPod has a small hard drive. The Nano doesn't have any movable parts.
Ok, makes sense. Thanks. I have stopped keeping up with most electronics.
