i just saw this Air/Fuel Monitor (http://www.knfilter.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=85-2441) on the K&N web site. Has anyone every used one on there gs500 if so how did it go and how much do they cost.
thank you
the el-cheapo ones are not accurate except right near stochiometric value
the 500 one with the wide band...usually 5 wire....uego sensor is the one that works
not worth putting on a bike ...permanently
only need for long enough to tune then remove
Yeah, most 'A/F monitors' are just bling bling items. If it costs less than $200, it's probably worthless.
It have an Innovate (http://www.innovatemotorsports.com) LC-1 WBO2 sensor that I got new for ~$220. It works well, but it's just the sensor/controller, so you need some way of monitoring it, either a gauge or a data logging device. I use mine as an input to my engine management system and love it as it makes street tuning super easy.
In all honestly though, it would be totally useless in a carb application and I wouldn't even bother hooking mine up to my GS unless I converted it to EFI.
