does anyone know if i can move my oil pump farther back so it will still be working when i'm in a wheelie? i don't even know where the pump is haha. thanks
you can wheel stand the gs500... you must do a write up lol
umm how long do u wheel stand for?
would it really matter if its not for that long?
dose ur oil light come on while you wheelie?
what are you doing watching the light and not watching the people you are showing off to?
Its not the oil pump you need to move, its the suction pick-up pipe in the sump so that its still under the oil level when you are at 60deg from the vertical.........HEY tell you what, why not fill the engine right up with oil, get as much in as you can, forget about the filler plug and use a sparkplug hole, that should sort it out
ya its not the oil pump, its the oil pickup. GO TO STUNTLIFE.COM! they are all about stunting, so they can help you better in that aspect. Its like going to a dog breeding forum and asking how to get your dog to sit and roll over, they do dog breeding not training so go to the right place. Drain your oil and sit your bike on the bar. Remove your oil pan and look and see where the engine sucks oil from, figure out someway to make it suck from the rear, extending, turning, remaking the pickup tube. The gsxr's and other bikes have an extension or something that extends or replaces the original tube.
.....but at the same time it has to suck oil up when the bike is horizontal.
and when doing stoppies!
Wouldn't a dual pickup with a flapper valve fix both possibilities?

If it's just relocated toward the back of the oil pan, then it shouldn't be a problem. It will draw oil on level ground no matter where it's located as long as you don't move it up.

That would be correct, and for stoppies, it doesnt really matter as much cause the engine is just idling and you dont stoppie for very long at all, so it wouldnt matter very much.
