Hey people.
Just wanted to give you all an oppurtunity to attend a skillz day hosted by Jeff. These are absolutely awesome in taking MSF training alittle further.
I Plan on attending, and was hoping to get some other GS500's out there. Now, you may be thinking that this wouldn't be as fun as a regular ride, I'm gonna tell you, everything I've heard says that this is just as fun. You get to talk with other riders, and improve your skills.
I believe that its held in a Parking Lot down in Foothill Ranch on Icon Drive. If anyone here is interested I'll get a more specific location and time.
Thanks.
Nick

Jeff fed me some more details.
It'll be starting at 9:30am, and will probably last until 3pm.
What... No Interest in improving your skills?
You all really should get out to the skillz day if you have a chance. Jeff really does a great job of teaching skills that are useful for people ranging from recent MSF graduates to people who ride canyons constantly.

+1. Jeff's classes are great.
Ummm,... where is it?

Silly question... I'm waiting for Jeff to tell me as soon as he secures a location.... the last few were in Foothill Ranch
Just waiting to hear where it is.
me too.... as soon as Jeff knows where, you'll know where.

Hah, I was confused for a second, but I'm guessing you thought LA = Lousiana? Sorry, but we stupid Californians tend to think the country and world revolves around us. LA is Los Angeles in this case, although the event is actually in Orange County.
Yeah, but Temecula is also in so cal...

what do you mean, "
WAS"? LOL...
Location Seems to be at the Ver izon Ampi theater VIP parking lot... but might be moved around the corner. So, thats the best we can do
Hmm, this is closer to me than I thought it would be. I'll try to make it.
Let me do a search first, but I may come back and ask what a newbie needs to have along at a skills day. (Skills obviously not being one.)
all you need to bring is yourself and appropriate gear to the Skillz Day. And maybe a few dollars to donate to the coffee can.
"appropriate" is full leathers if you have them, FF helmet, gloves, boots, etc. How you doing on gear?
actually, to clarify, "well, its not a knee dragger... so a jacket, jeans, and gloves, with a helmet is okay.... but nothing wrong with Leathers."
This Verizon Amphitheater?

Use of the Verizon lot is out for that day. So...
<TragicImage> Here are the directions to a different site: Exit the 5-freeway at Bake Parkway and go east to CommerceCentre. Turn left on CommerceCentre, then right into the first drive. Once you enter the drive, turn left. You'll see us at the end of the lot.

<TragicImage> I'll be there on a Blue 06 GS500F, wearing a blue and black mesh suit, name is Nick, just holler at me, and I"ll come over
Its this sunday!!
I hope you all can make it!
Woohoo...i'll actually be there! i'm pretty stoked.
And gilaman...hope you can make it - it'd be nice to see another Alabama transplant there.
See you guys tomorrow!
awesome, looking forward to seein you there.
Awesome seeing everyone.
Congrats on winning the slow race.....
12th monkey-was that your bike parked on PCH this afternoon, across from Moonshadows restaurant (or some such restaurant)? I saw it as I was heading up, around noon, and thought of you.
And who was the cute girl on the old 90's gs500 on PCH?
That was a nice little GS convention at the skillz day. I was a little bummed that we didn't get to run many exercises before I had to bail, but it was worth it. I was really hoping to do the slow race, but oh well. Who won it?
Pablo - No, that's not me. That poor bike...and '02 and already rusted so badly. i see it all the time, either parked there, or parked up in front of the Verizon building. Haven't seen it in motion once tho.
Brett - i actually made it to the finals in the slow race. It was me and Ron...but i put my foot down about 5 feet before the finish line. But Ron said he didn't want to be the "winner"...so i got the coupon by default. i was the courtesy winner.
It was an awesome day. i'm so glad i went. Anyone else in the SoCal area (or NorCal...if you wanna ride down with Brett) should definitely go. It helped me a lot.
The next one is most likely going to be on the 11th, or so Jeff says.
I'll most likely make it to that one too.
I got to use alot of the techniques on my way home. I took AFH instead of the freeways, and had a "Deer Sighting Incident" exiting a gravel strewn corner.
