Title: Is anyone else having problems with notifications?
Post by: Egaeus on October 04, 2006, 07:02:20 PM
I've noticed that in the last week or two that the email notification system is inconsistent.  I'll not get any notifications just to come here and threads I was following have pages of responses that I haven't seen.  I've gone as far as marking the entire board as "read" to no avail.  Am I the only one having this problem, or has anyone else noticed it?

I don't use the notification option.  Too many emails get sent to me that way

sometimes it works propperly with me...sometimes it's delayed an hour or two.  It's dependant on if I have the forum open in a window and whether I'm using firefox or IE.  I also use gmail.

I've never had a problem with notifications until just recently.  I'd have gmail open and the board open, and if I was following something, it'd pop up on the board, and then pop up in gmail a couple of minutes later at most.  The boards still using the same version of SMF, so I don't know what's going on....

I thnk it's something to do with gmail...not the forum.  I have the same problem on various forums using different softwares.

I doubt that gmail is suddenly eating my email.  It's not delayed by a minute or two; it just doesn't exist.
